Dr. Peter John Bullock is a distinguished General Practitioner and General Internal Medicine physician whose career spans more than five decades, three countries, and some of the most demanding environments in modern medicine. Currently the CEO of Arch Street Medical Associates in Redwood City, California, Dr. Bullock is known for his rare blend of clinical breadth, frontier-tested judgment, and unwavering dedication to patient care.
A graduate of the Medical College of St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London University, Dr. Bullock began his medical career in one of the most remote and rugged settings in North America. In 1973, he answered an urgent call from the Newfoundland Fishery, providing comprehensive medical care to offshore fishing fleets facing severe injuries, illness, and life-threatening conditions. His early years practicing in Newfoundland and later in Saskatchewan required him to be prepared for anything — often flying to isolated islands and farms in weather considered unflyable. Trained by a WWII B-17 pilot, he earned his pilot’s license and spent years delivering emergency care across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba, gaining extensive experience in occupational injuries and rural medicine.
Dr. Bullock moved to the United States in 1975, completed licensing training at UCSF, and established a General Practice in San Francisco before relocating to Redwood City, where he has practiced for more than 30 years. His clinic is a true full-spectrum practice — managing everything from gynecology and fracture reductions to burns, tendon repairs, and complex internal medicine cases. With a background spanning the UK, Canadian, and U.S. healthcare systems, he brings a uniquely comprehensive perspective to patient care, including a deep commitment to responsible pain management.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Bullock maintains an active role in research, focusing over the past five years on GLP1 medications and their potential to reverse hepatic steatosis and even early cirrhosis. His findings have contributed to emerging understanding of metabolic therapies and their broader clinical applications.
A longtime leader within the California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery (CSIMS), Dr. Bullock has been a member since 1993, served as President in 2007, and sat on the board from 2003 to the present.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Bullock is a Kladruber horse breeder, steeplechase rider, carriage driver, pilot, and violinist — a testament to his lifelong curiosity and zest for challenge. Now 78, he has no plans to retire, and his patients insist he doesn’t.
