Dr. Amir Bahreman is a quadruple board-certified neurologist and an American Diplomat in Neurology and Psychiatry, Brain Injury Medicine, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Vascular Neurology by the ABPN. He completed his neurology residency at Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York and went on to pursue fellowship training in Neurophysiology and Stroke at the University of Chicago. His comprehensive training has made him a leading expert in brain injury, stroke care, and neurodiagnostics.
Dr. Bahreman has been practicing neurology since 2004 and established his private practice, the Neurological and Pain Institute, in San Diego in 2008. He is affiliated with Sharp Grossmont Hospital where he currently serves as co-director of the Stroke Program. His clinical expertise spans traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic headache disorders, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, and peripheral nerve injuries.
Beyond clinical care, Dr. Bahreman is a well-respected expert witness in medical-legal neurology, especially for TBI cases. He performs advanced neurophysiological testing including EMG/NCS, EEG, quantitative EEG, VNG, and computerized posturography. He is also certified in regenerative medicine, including stem cell therapies and anti-aging approaches, and has lectured widely on the use of neurological testing in legal and clinical settings.
