Harish Hosalkar

Dr. Harish Hosalkar is an internationally recognized orthopedic surgeon with a busy surgical private

practice in San Diego. He currently serves as the Medical Director of The Hosalkar Institute for Joint

Preservation and Injury Care, the Director of the Center for Hip Preservation and Children’s

Orthopedics, and the Director of the Joint Preservation and Brain Injury Deformity Correction

Program at Paradise Valley Hospital. Dr. Hosalkar is also affiliated with Scripps Mercy Hospital in

both San Diego and Chula Vista, Paradise Valley Hospital, and Sharp Grossmont Hospital.

Dr. Hosalkar relocated to San Diego from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, where he

completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery, earning the DeForest Williard and William Bora

awards upon graduation. His fellowship training includes stints at Inselspital in Berne, Great

Ormond Street Hospital in London, and UPENN/CHOP.

With approximately 200 peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters to his name, Dr.

Hosalkar has received numerous accolades, including the Stanley Chung-Pediatric Orthopedic

Research Award, OREF Regional Research Award (Philadelphia), Vernon Nickel Orthopedic

Research Award, Raymond Morrissy POSNA Award, and AAOS Best Poster Award. He also received

the OREF Career Development Award and has earned multiple gold medals during his medical

education and orthopedic residency in India.

Dr. Hosalkar’s professional interests encompass joint preservation and reconstruction, deformity

correction, biologics, neuromuscular issues (including brain injury and stroke), trauma and

fracture care, limb lengthening, bone tumors and children’s orthopedics.

Over a decade ago, Dr. Hosalkar founded Alliance Medical Group, a multi-specialty medical group

that offers coordinated and timely care to patients with injuries. It has since become one of

Southern California's leading medical groups, serving injured patients locally, regionally, and

nationally.
