Neuropsychologist | Educator | Founding Director – Auxiliary Studies Program
Dr. Michael Elliott is a seasoned clinical and neuropsychologist with over 26 years of experience treating individuals, couples, and families in private practice. He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from the United States International University.
In parallel to his clinical work, Dr. Elliott has had an extensive academic career. He serves as core faculty in the Master’s in Counseling Psychology program and has held significant leadership roles, including President of the Academic Senate and member of the Senate Leadership Committee.
Dr. Elliott is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and a clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the American Association of University Professors (AAUP). His longstanding contributions to the field include supervising MFT and clinical psychology interns and shaping the next generation of mental health professionals.
He is the Founding Director of the Auxiliary Studies Program in Orange County, CA, a nationally recognized initiative supporting secondary school students with learning and behavioral challenges. A prolific speaker, Dr. Elliott has conducted workshops and presented papers at prestigious conferences, including the American Psychological Association (APA).
His publications include articles such as “The Art and Soul of Couples and Family Therapy” in The Therapist and “The Unmotivated Child: A Crisis in Perception” in The Sky Is The Limit. He is currently completing his first book, Philosophic Psychology: Counseling for the Cultural Crisis.
